If something costs a thousand bucks, it's because the manufacturer is using economies of scale to do it cheaper than it's possible to do as a prototype. Arduino is not a cheap way to duplicate the functionality of a thousand-dollar item. Buy a commerical GPS + accelerometer product. I'm with cedarlakeinstruments on this one. Holy crap - that's an entirely different ball game! Are we talking connecting to the 'net from a moving vehicle and displaying a map on some sort of wired-in display? It should also be able to use Google Maps or similar and to show you where you drove. Stuff the raw values out to the card, and it becomes "possible to analyse". Measure the acceleration, positive and negative G-forces and save it to the memory card, which then is possible to analyse. Surely all you need to do is save the raw values to the SD card, comma-separated? The OP's spec is:
